About Us
Mission Statement
The Alliance of the American Dental Association, as a partner organization to the American Dental Association, actively provides community oral health education, supports the well being of the dental family, and engages in legislative advocacy for the welfare of the public and the dental profession.
The Reason to Smile
The Alliance of the American Dental Association (AADA) promotes healthy dental practices for dentists, the public and the dental profession as a whole. We actively support dental families at every stage of their careers and lives. We act as ambassadors for our spouses and dentistry through legislative advocacy and local outreach. We also provide extensive oral health education in communities across the nation. By nurturing dental families, representing the interests of the profession and delivering community-based oral health education, AADA gives dentists, their families and the public "The Reason to Smile".
"What is Your Reason to Smile?"
from Johanna Manasse, AADA Council on Membership Chair
Our brand new promise, the message we want everyone to associate with the Alliance, is The Reason to Smile. It is expected to be used extensively in the recruitment and retention campaign being designed by the membership council. The Reason to Smile is ready for you to use right now, the next time you talk to anyone about who we are, what we stand for, how we impact them, why we are so vital, and when the best time to join is — now, naturally.
The Reasons to Smile are infectious. Just imagine the possibilities of this one, small phrase in your own conversations:
- Seeing all the children, who are very happy with the new toothbrushes we just gave them, is "The Reason to Smile".
- My legislator just responded to my letter about the health insurance issue, affirmed her agreement and gave me "The Reason to Smile".
- At our Alliance meeting we prepared the final details for a poster contest about using mouthguards that starts next week at the middle school. Saving young mouths from injuries gives our committee "The Reason to Smile".
- Why am I happy? I am working with my dentist spouse and he just told his local dental association that I make a positive difference for his bottom line. How is that for "The Reason to Smile"? And, I learned it from talking with Alliance members three states away from me!
