Foundation

The Foundation for Dental Health Education (FDHE) was founded in 1990 to fund initiatives that promote good oral healthcare. Through our fundraising efforts, we sponsor the development of public outreach programs, access to care initiatives, educational materials, web-based public information resources, training, and other innovative efforts to educate the public. View our Brochure

Here are examples of programs to which the FDHE has made awards:

FDHE Grants

  • Provided dental treatment at a therapeutic residential care facility to children affected by drugs, HIV, abuse and neglect.
  • Developed a portable exhibit for educating thousands of elementary school students on oral health.
  • Distributed dental health education activity books to thousands of inner-city school children.
  • Provided funds for a program that targets teens on the dangers of using smokeless tobacco at a rural health care facility with outlying clinics.
  • Sponsored a workshop educating medical and dental clinicians on ways to address the use of tobacco in clinical settings.

Apply for a Grant

The FDHE funds programs that promote the awareness and importance of dental health care. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit a grant application for initiatives, activities, products or programs that focus on dental health education.

Grant Applications must be received by November 1 of each calendar year. The selection process will be made by December 31 of each calendar year. The funding will be made available by January 15. Grantees must make a report to the FDHE after the project is completed.
