The Alliance of the American Dental Association annually sponsors awards programs to recognize members for service to their communities and to dentistry. These contributions, large or small, are applauded. Taken as a whole, individual efforts have large scale impact.

Award Categories


Thema J. Neff Distinguished Service Award

A Distinguished Service Award that recognizes members who made outstanding contributions and who exemplify outstanding leadership and volunteer spirit through excellence in service and commitment to their Alliance on the component (local) level and/or constituent (state) level. Established in 1984, this prestigious award honors Thelma J. Neff who founded AADA in 1955 and served as its first president followed by 19 years as KEY editor. Candidates must be active tripartite members or a members-at-large for more than ten years. 


Beaulah K. Spencer Service Award

The Beulah K. Spencer Service Award is a Distinguished Service Award that recognizes members who make outstanding contributions and who exemplify outstanding leadership and volunteer spirit through excellence in service and commitment to their Alliance on the component (local) level and/or constituent (state) level. Established in 1994, this prestigious award honors Beulah K. Spencer. Candidates must have been active tripartite members or members-at-large ten years or less. 


Student Spouse Scholarship

For Conference, the Alliance of the American Dental Association (AADA) is offering scholarships for Student Spouse Members. The scholarships, provided by the ADA Members Insurance Plans underwritten by Great-West Financial, will provide up to seven hundred dollars ($700) for travel and lodging costs, and will include complimentary registration and non-transferable tickets to required sessions and activities. The focus of this scholarship program is to prepare the recipient for further involvement in dental health education, legislative activities and leadership positions as they continue their membership in the Alliance. 


First Time Attendee Conference Grant

For Conference, the Alliance of the American Dental Association (AADA) is offering First Time Conference Attendee Grants available thanks to the generosity of the American Dental Association (ADA). The grant program was established to encourage Alliance members to attend Conference in order to acquire skills and gain insight into AADA, preparing them for further involvement in dental health education, legislative activities and leadership positions. The grant includes complimentary registration and non-transferable tickets to required sessions and reimburses recipients up to seven hundred dollars ($700) for travel and lodging. 


Member Project Award (MPA)

These programs allow us to recognize component and constituent alliances as well as individual members and members-at-large for efforts on behalf of dentistry. Please let us know about the outstanding work that you and your fellow AADA members have been performing in your communities.  PARTICIPATE & BE RECOGNIZED!  We want to acknowledge your efforts on behalf of the dental profession.
